Love is…

You have a challenge on your hands! The aliens have
landed. Fortunately, they seem to have come in peace. On
their planet, though, there is no such thing as love. How can you help them understand the concept?

SC: Working in groups, create a collage using Piclits, Storybird, Zooburst, or a google video story that reflects your group’s definition of love.

1. Using the internet, find a range of texts
from different time periods and genres which relate to love.
You can look for images, key words, phrases, music, poetry,
dance, drama, extracts from novels or non fiction (like
letters, diary entries or problem pages). Split up for this
activity to speed things up.
2. Get your group together again to decide which concept
of love each resource you’ve found reflects.
3. Having chosen which resources you want to use, go on
to create a ‘Love is…’ collage for your alien visitors to takeback home to their planet.
4. Now showcase your work to the rest of the class.

What have you learned:
About love?
About how you read?
Discuss these two questions in your group.
